Axe Test Automation Platform - Overview

Axe is a test automation platform that greatly increases productivity and drastically reduces maintenance overheads for test automation. It uses simple Microsoft Excel spreadsheets as a means to define and model test scenarios and code generation techniques to rapidly generate robust, self-documented automation code. Axe integrates with tools from the leading commercial suppliers; Microfocus, HP, IBM Rational, t-Plan, open source web testing tool WatiN, Watir, Selenium and Odin's own SOA test tool AxeHarness (now bundled with Axe).

What's new in Axe 3.0

New features to support Micrsoft VS2010 Coded UI Test generation and TFS Integration:
  • Code generation and execution of CodedUI tests in CSharp or Visual Basic
  • Choice of the native (UIMap) object map or the Axe Excel object map
  • Import of Axe test documentation into Test Manager
  • Execution of Axe tests from Test Manager

Other key enhancements include:

  • Full support for running Axe on 64-bit platforms
  • Improved Runtime API for .NET integrations
  • Support for Visual Basic as an alternative language to CSharp for .NET integrations
  • Various user interface improvements such as previewing of Run tables
